The Wedding of Nicki & Ian at South Farm, Shingay cum Wendy

Our last wedding of the year and it took us back to one of our very favourite venues; South Farm. With a fresh fall of snow it looked amazing even if the temperature gauge was saying 9 degrees below zero! Many guests come from far afield despite the road conditions to enjoy Nicki & Ian's big day. After their ceremony in the barn we took the guests outside for a couple of big group photos then concentrated on the bride and groom pictures before heading back inside for a few family shots. We stayed for the speeches & the 1st dance. Have a great Honeymoon and Merry Christmas to everyone who reads our blog!

Jennie & Mikey's Wedding at Tewin Bury Farm

Sunday the 12th of December and we're back on home territory at Tewin Bury Farm for the wedding of Jennie & Mikey. Such a lovely group of people, friends and family alike. After the emotional ceremony we went outside for a few photos but just after the confetti was thrown it started to rain. Plan B commandeer the Stable Barn for some interior pics and once the rain had abated we headed to the Stable gardens for the last few shots. A great day was had by all, congratulations!

Katie & Alec's Wedding at The Matara Centre, Kingscote

Saturday the 11th & we're at the Matara Centre in Gloucestershire, our second time there & we were really looking forward to it! Katie & Alec got married in the lovely domed Hilarium after which we took a few photos in and around the courtyard then out into the parklands for some romantic couple portraits. The wedding breakfast was a Hog Roast followed by an Ice Cream Bar, kids young and old loved it! Have a great Honeymoon.

Kelly & Mark - The Reception

My sister Kelly & Mark's reception was held at Wodson Park in Ware, a lovely big room with tons of space for the 100+guests expected. We'd booked our friend DJ Rocky who was brilliant as ever. Alex had made the biggest and best sweetie table we'd ever seen plus the cake topper - talented lady! Mark's mum made the buffet and his Aunty made the cake/s. We'd also supplied instant and digital cameras for the guests to snap away with. A great time was had by all, we got home about12.30am only to be up by 6am to take the happy, but sleepy couple to Gatwick for their honeymoon in Cuba :-)

Sarah & Kevin's Wedding at Lympne Castle, Hythe

Sunday the 5th of December and we've driven down to the South Kent coast for the wedding of Sarah and Kevin. With the weather being rather dicey we weren't sure what to expect but the snow abated and we had a clear blue sky for most of the day! The Castle was amazing, the log fires in every room gave it a real 'haven from the winter' feel. The ceremony went without a hitch, the photos followed then onto their receiving line then food in the Great Hall. We stayed until just after their 1st Dance. Have a great honeymoon!

My Sister's Wedding!

It's been a long build up and plenty of busy last minute days, but Wednesday the 1st finally came around for my Sister Kelly & her fiance Mark. They've been together 6 years and started planning their wedding last Christmas after Mark proposed at an Aerosmith concert. Kelly wanted a Christmas wedding & Mark a summer one but they 'compromised' and had the 1st December! Alex did a reading at their ceremony and I was a witness as well as being their photographers. They are having a big evening reception later this week, part two of their photos will be up on Monday. They fly off to the Caribbean for their honeymoon - cross fingers the airports are open!

Kelly & Mark's Pre-Wedding Shoot

A new thing! A cartoon style collage of 9 photos showing how our couple met, fell in love and married - our guinea pigs for our new style mini-pre-wedding shoot were my sister and her fiance - we drove them to sunny Southend for the photo shoot. The photo is printed to 10x10 and, if mounted & framed, can be used as an alternative to a guest book. We're giving this one to the happy couple as a present. The mini-shoot & 10x10 print to mount and frame yourself costs £100. Anyone interested in this new type of product just drop us a line.

Suzanne & Mark's Wedding at Gosfield Hall

Sunday the 14th November and we're in rurla Essex at Gosfield Hall for the wedding of Suzanne and Mark. The weather wasn't on our side luckily Gosfield has many areas for some lovely indoor pictures. A great group of people, we had some fun capturing our formal groups and informal portraits. We left just after the speeches, we hope the evening went as smoothly as the day!

Helen & Dan's Wedding at Letchworth Hall Hotel

November the 6th and we're in North Herts for the wedding of Helen and Dan at St Vincents Church, Newnham and Letchworth Hall Hotel. A really lovely down to earth couple, Helen and Dan had fun day with lots of friends and close family. The weather was kind, not too cold and very sunny! After their ceremony and a few shots at the Church we went to the Hotel for a few more pics before sitting for their wedding breakfast. The food was lovely, as were the hotel staff. Everyone retired to the bar while the room was turned around in super quick time ready for a very emotional 1st Dance. Happy honeymoon guys!

The Wedding of Claire & Danny at The George Hotel, Buckden

Sunday the 31st and we're back at The George for the wedding of Claire and Danny. The ceremony took place at 5pm, the clocks having gone back the previous evening we knew this would be an indoor wedding so the dark awful weather outside didn't matter one bit! Danny was also in the dark about who would be at the wedding, initially he thought just a few family members were attending but a secret military style operation had meant that unbeknownst to him about 35 of his and Claire's friends were also waiting for him as he entered the ceremony room. The George were their usual efficient selves throughout - we stayed for Danny and Claire's speeches then left them to enjoy the rest of their evening.

The Wedding of Adele & Wayne at Friern Manor Hotel, Dunton

Saturday the 30th of October and we're in Rayleigh, Essex for the wedding of Adele and Wayne. Their church ceremony was at Holy Trinity Church in Rayleigh Town - despite being surrounded by scaffolding, the church was beautiful. After the service we shot a couple of group shots then we all drove off to Friern Manor for their reception. After a few more group photos and some portraits of the bride and groom in the grounds we handed them over to the staff at Friern for their receiving line. We left just as the happy couple walked into dinner.

Our Tour of the South

We had a great time travelling around the South of England this week. We went to Marwell Zoo, an Owl, Bird of Prey and Reptile centre, we painted pottery, explored the Isle of Wight and wasted tons of 2ps in the arcades! Though my daughter did win loads of packets of sweets & bars & bars of chocolate on Sandown Pier. We didn't get to do everything we wanted to, but we're back there in a couple of weeks for some commercial photographic work that we're doing in November.

Stephanie & Paul's Wedding at Charingworth Manor Hotel, Chipping Campden

Sunday the 24th and we're in Chipping Campden for the wedding of Stephanie and Paul at Charringworth Manor Hotel. The first time for us at this beautiful venue, and the weather was perfect - such a deep blue sky. After a few prep shots and an emotional ceremony we headed outside into the sun for the photos, about an hour later we're making our way through the hotel to the stunningly decorated marque for the wedding breakfast. We stayed until just after the speeches & cake cutting, have a great honeymoon!

Sarah & Stuart's Wedding at Ponsbourne Park Hotel, Newgate Street

Saturday the 23rd and we're back at Ponsbourne for the wedding of Sarah & Stuart. A lovely sunny day, we seem to bring the sun with us when we go to Newgate Street. Sarah & Stuart personlised their day with little touches all of their own - even Stuart's favorite Brown Sauce was in attendance. The videographers for the day were RoBeBo - we also had some fabulous entertainment supplied by Miss Balooniverse, a seriously fun and seriously funny lady. Have a great honeymoon!

Simone and Ryan's Wedding at Ye Olde Plough House, Bulphan

Thursday the 21st and we're in Chadwell St Mary for the wedding of Simone and Ryan. They had a gorgeous day, a little chilly but bright and sunny. I photographed Simone's preparations whilst Alex waited at the Church for the Groom and his guys. The ceremony at St Mary's went very well and after a few photos we drove to Bulphan. The Ye Olde Plough House Hotel was as beautiful as ever, the grounds and the room are always stunning. We left just after the the guests entered for their wedding breakfast.

Mark & Ewa's Wedding at Enfield Register Office & Fanhams Hall

Wednesday the 20th and we're at Enfield Register Office for the wedding of Mark & Ewa. A small wedding, our bride and groom and only 4 guests, made this intimate and emotional for everyone attending. After the ceremony we headed straight to Fanhams for a few photos. The weather was great if a little chilly, we walked a circular path to encompass the red bridge, the iron gates, the fountain & gardens as well as a lovely archway all brilliant back-drops for our pictures - throughout which Mark & Ewa were beaming! We left them as they went into the Hotel for their afternoon tea.

Rachel & Tom's Wedding at Vaulty Manor

First weekend since March where we only have one wedding, but it's a biggie! An early start for Alex as she's dropped off at the Church for 9am as there's a long drive for me to the Bride's mum's house for the preparations. The midday ceremony was the cue for a shower of rain which was almost over as the bride and groom made their exit and different affect the day too much at all. The weather brightened and we had almost cloudless skies for the rest of the day. After a few formal photos at Vaulty Manor the guests went inside for speeches and their wedding breakfast. A garter throw and bouquet throw started off the evening entertainment in style, we stayed until just after their 1st Dance, happy honeymoon!

Susannah & Roland's Wedding at St Alban's Cathedral & the Hollybush

Saturday the 9th and we're at another local wedding this time the Catherdral & Abbey Church of St Alban. With some very special connections to the church Susannah & Roland felt completely at home there. A truly amazing building, inside and out - the ceremony took place in the beautiful Lady Chapel. The Catherdral Choir made a marvelous ceremony even better and once it was over everyone joined the recessional through to the West End Doors for the photos after which we all went to the Hollybush in Potters Crouch for their garden and marque reception.

Jenny & Robert's Wedding at Ponsbourne Park, Newgate Street

Friday the 8th and we're back at Ponsbourne for the wedding of Jen & Rob - Ponsbourne never lets us down weather-wise, always sunny, always lovely. A great couple, Jen and Rob looked like they thoroughly enjoyed their day with lots of family and friends around them. The resident Toastmaster Des made sure the day went smoothly [as always] and there was always something to photograph! Happy Honeymoon!

Lisa & Alan's Wedding at Priory Barn, Little Wymondley

Thursday the 7th and we're just north of Stevenage for the wedding of Lisa & Alan at the Priory Barn, Little Wymondley. Lisa & Alan enjoyed a lovely warm and sunny day for their wedding. After an atmospheric ceremony in the barn the happy couple and their guests made their way into the gardens at Priory Barn which were the perfect backdrop for our photos. We left just after the speeches and before the wedding breakfast which smelt beautiful!

Lisa & James' Wedding at Ware Priory

Lisa & James' wedding saw our return to Ware Priory, a venue that we hadn't been to for about 2 years depite it being only a few minutes from our home. Not the best of days however, a light drizzle hung over us for most of the day but both Lisa & James were very relaxed and were happy to brave the light rain for a few pictures. Clive from Ware Priory ensured the day went smoothly & our friends Darryl & Donna provided videographic services.

Nichola & Lee's Wedding at Hunters Meet, Hatfield Heath

Thursday the 30th saw us at Hunters meet for the 1st time - Nichola and Lee originally booked us for 2012 but decided they wanted to get married sooner so brought their day forward a couple of years! Nichola works at Manor of Groves Hotel and got ready in a beautiful room there. Many members of the hotel staff wished their colleague well as she left to go to drive to her outdoor ceremony just 10 minutes away. The weather was lovely, the setting was amazing - both Nichola and Lee looked relaxed as they said their vows in front of their friends and family. We captured some formal and informal shots before going into the Hotel to photograph their speeches and the cake cutting. No ordinary cake, it was a masterpiece, many tiers all beautifully decorated and the whole thing was made by the Bride's mum!

Karen & Paul's Wedding at Garden Court, Hanbury Manor

Sunday the 26th and we're back on local turf for the wedding of Karen and Paul. Our 1st time photographing a wedding in the Garden Court. We'd met the bride and groom a few weeks previously and looked around the landscaped gardens but on the day the weather wasn't so good and we took all the formal photos inside the light and airy Summer House. Karen and Paul were up for a trip to the main hotel so a golf buggy was summoned and we had a dash in the rain to the main doors for a few umbrella shots then back to the gardens as the weather improved for a couple of walking photos along the beautiful gravel paths. Happy Honeymoon!

Lara & Steve's Wedding at Gate Street Barn, Nr Guildford

Saturday the 25th and we're in Surrey for the wedding of Lara to Steve. We photographed their friends Donna & Tony's wedding in April and so there were many familiar faces. A change in the weather from the previous day meant we had a beautiful blue sky making the barns look amazing. The day went very well, lots of fun to be had - a great mix of friends and family. We stayed until 9pm to see them perform their 1st dance and cut their [cup] cakes!

Katy & Ben's Wedding at Harpenden House Hotel

Friday the 24th September and we're at the 1st of our trio of weddings this weekend - not the best of weather but a great fun bunch of people made the day go with a swing. Katy and Ben were the perfect match for each other both having a great sense of humour which made the photos a breeze. We left them to their evening after we'd captured the pre-dinner speeches.

Danni & Craig's Wedding at Friern Manor, Dunton

Sunday the 19th and we're at Friern Manor for the wedding of Danni & Craig at Friern Manor. Such an amazing venue, lots of places for photos and the staff are top notch. We arrived early and seperately went to capture some images of the bridal preparations and the groom arriving. The day went very well, their family and friends were lovely, many travelling from far and wide to be there for their special day. Danni sang a surprise song for Craig to kick off the evening - she was fantastic!

Gemma & Billy's Wedding at Coltsford Mill, Oxted

Saturday the 18th and we're back at Coltsford Mill for the wedding at Coltsford Mill in Oxted. Billy & Gemma first got married in a beautiful church, St Mary's Shortlands. They and their 150 guests then made their way to Oxted for a few photos. A lovely sunny day in Oxted, everyone enjoyed the lovely surroundings at Coltsford Mill until it was time for the wedding breakfast. We left just after their 1st dance - it looked like a lively evening was to come!

Donna & Gary's Wedding at The Old Rectory, Dunton

Saturday the 11th and we're in Stanford-le Hope for the wedding of Donna & Gary at their local Church, St Margaret's and their reception at The Old Rectory, Dunton. Despite a few drops of rain the happy couple and their guests were relaxed throughout the day, braving the drizzle for some photos - then, as the wedding breakfast got underway the sun came out and the rest of the day was warm and balmy. Have a great honeymoon - wherever that may be!

Robyn & Ryan's Wedding at Richmond Hill Hotel

Friday the 10th and we're in Shepperton for the wedding of Robyn and Ryan at their local Church, St Mary Magdelene. Then off to Richmond for their reception in the ballrom of The Richmond Hill Hotel. Located opposite Richmond Park this hotel is perfectly located for photos and the ballroom itself was spectacular. Happy Honeymoon!

Catherine & Ben's Wedding at Coltsford Mill, Oxted

Thursday the 9th and we're in Coltsford Mill, Oxted for the 2nd wedding of three this month. Catherine got ready in the Venue's Bridal Cottage with the help of her bridesmaids and her ultra-cute little flowersgirls & page boy. The weather was on our side, all the photos done and guests safely inside for the wedding breakfast and the heavens opened! Once the food was finished the weather turned again and we had a beautiful balmy evening to enjoy. Brilliant day!

Louise & Martin's Wedding at Layer Marney Tower

Saturday the 4th and we're in rural Essex for the wedding of Louise & Martin at Layer Marney Tower. Louise got ready at Five Lakes Hotel and headed to Layer Marney in the venue's vintage Rolls Royce. The weather was lovely all day, allowing everyone to enjoy the gardens while we took the photos. The venue laid on a barbeque which was a hit with the guests, who were then treated to an evening of dancing provided by James Grant & Josh Dubovie

Stephanie & Lee's Wedding at The Lawn, Rochford

Sunday the 29th saw us in Essex for the wedding of Stephanie and Lee at The Lawn. They had a lovely ceremony, surrounded by their friends and family. The day went well despite a couple of showers, the new Orangery looked amazing and was a lovely setting for the wedding breakfast. As the day progressed the sun began to shine and there wasn't a cloud in the sky when we left!

Laura & Steve's Wedding at Waltham Abbey Church & Town Hall

Saturday's wedding was at Waltham Abbey Church with their reception at Waltham Abbey Town Hall - just across the road! We took most of the group photos in the gardens behind the Church, but just as the guests were about to throw confetti the heavens opened! The rest of the pictures were taken inside the Town Hall. The reception was in the Cornmill Suite, a beautiful Hog Roast & Buffet was laid on and everyone partied into the night.

Liz & Lee's Wedding at Stoke By Nayland Golf Club, Nr Colchester

Friday the 27th saw us travel to Stoke By Nayland Golf Club, Nr Colchester in Essex for the wedding of Elisabeth & Lee. It was our 1st visit to this picturesque location, with it's great views across the golf course and lakes from the ceremony & reception rooms. Liz & Lee have been together for 10 years and were surrounded by their lovely familes on their big day.

Jo & Jeff's Wedding in Kimpton

Saturday the 21st and we're in Kimpton for the wedding of Jo & Jeff at their [very] local church of St Peter & St Paul. We rarely get a Bride who walks to the church but yesterday we did, the whole wedding party in fact walked that 100 yards! Their reception was held in the same village - so after the ceremony everyone walked to the Kimpton Memorial Hall for an English tea party with fine china and scones, typical English weather threatened a couple of times but nothing came of it and everyone enjoyed the nibbles outside before going into the beautifully decorated [chamber pots full of amazing flowers as centrepieces!] hall for the wedding breakfast. Great day had by all.

Sarah & Sean's Wedding at St Michael's Church & Sopwell House Hotel

Friday the 20th and we're in St Albans for the wedding of Sarah & Sean - the day seemed to fly by! We only covered 4 hours but Sarah & Sean got 599 pictures in their gallery! They were a dream to photograph, their guests were lovely & added to two beautiful venues we had a great day. Have a brilliant honeymoon!

Jennifer & Stuart's Wedding at South Farm, Shingay-Cum-Wendy

Tuesday the 17th & we're on the borders of Hertfordshire & Cambridgeshire for the wedding of Jennifer & Stuart at South Farm, Near Royston. South Farm is one of our favourite venues, the gardens, the house, the barn and the animals all give it 10/10 from us! Jen & Stuart made the best of the weather, a little rain before the ceremony meant it was re-located indoors to the conservatory but the weather did everyone proud for the photos - but once everyone was inside and well fed [amazing food!] it chucked it down during the speeches!

Natalie & Lee's Wedding at Fanham's Hall

August the 15th and we're at Fanham's Hall in Ware for the wedding of Natalie & Lee. Fanham's is always picture perfect and Sunday was no exception. Natalie & Lee's day was huge fun, great people, lots of laughter & team usher was on top form. Special mention for the speeches which were first class!

Andi & Jon's Wedding at Easthampstead Park Conference Centre

Andi & Jon got married on Saturday the 14th - despite the day being interspersed with a few showers everyone enjoyed their day at Easthampstead with it's wonderful buildings and gardens. A day full of personal touches, Jon sang to Andi during the speeches, which produced tears of emotion & laughter! Have a great Honeymoon.

Sarah & Chris' Wedding at Waltham Abbey & Hitchin Priory

Friday the 13th - we had a little rain, dodging showers at the Church and the Priory but Sarah & Chris were brilliant throughout the day despite a few mad dashes to make it to cover before getting wet! Waltham Abbey is such a stunning Church and the Priory excelled themselves with the marquee set-up it looked amazing.

Rachel & Russ' wedding at Brighton Town Hall

Monday saw us at Brighton Town Hall for Rachel & Russ' wedding. We were recommended to them by a couple who we photographed last year at the Barbican in London. We'd been to Brighton before but never actually made it to the beach! We made up for that when we took the whole wedding party there for some pictures on the carousel, more by the doughnut and some more in deckchairs on the shingle.

Sally & Stuart's Wedding at Coltsford Mill, Oxted

Saturday the 7th, and the 4th of the 5 new venues we'll have covered in the last 7 days! Sally booked us way back in April 2008 - her big day was a long time in the planning. Coltsford Mill has a multitude of places to take great pictures which is good as we're back there for another two weddings in the next month.

Rachel & James' Wedding at Manor of Groves, High Wych

Friday the 6th & another new venue for us, Manor of Groves nr Sawbridgeworth. Rachel & James' family and friends filled St Margaret's Church in Stanstead Abbotts for their ceremony and despite a little drizzle of rain afterwards the rest of the day went without a hitch. The Manor Suite, where the reception was held, looked amazing and the food was scrumptious! Happy honeymoon!

Emma & Guy's Wedding at The Barns Hotel, Bedford

Thursday the 5th and we were at the Barns Hotel in Bedford - our 1st time there for a wedding but what a beautiful place, set alongside the river. The Hotel is charming and the Tithe Barn, where the wedding and reception took place, was very impressive. Guy and Emma were the perfect couple - all smiles, all day!
