The Wedding of Louise & Gary at Hertford Register Office and The Feathers, Wadesmill

Friday the 2nd December and we're staying local for the wedding of Louise and Gary at Hertford Register Office and The Feathers, Wadesmill. They were recommended to us by a couple who they chatted to at their venue (we never did work out who it was!) After some prep shots at The Feathers we headed to Hertford for their ceremony. Despite the cold the day was lovely and bright, we made use of the good weather and did most of the shots outside including a trip to the County Hall Cloisters. We stayed for an hour at their reception before leaving them to it - have a lovely honeymoon.

The Wedding of Selina & Dan at The Fennes

The last wedding of November and we're at the Fennes for the wedding of Selina & Dan. They and their children were a delight to work with as were their friends and family, we had a great time photographing them from prep shots through to their 1st dance. Lots of little touches such as a pictureblast photo booth, a covent garden style living sculpture, a brilliant wedding singer Cassie & some lovely personalised cup cakes all made their day wonderful to be a part of.

The Wedding of Jacki & Guy at The Barns Hotel, Bedford

Friday the 11th November and we're in Biggleswade for the wedding of Jacki & Guy. We met them through a friend of ours (who married 3 years ago) and there's several familiar faces at this wedding! Alex made them a  surprise cake topper - you can buy her creations here. After their Bedford Register Office ceremony we all headed to the Barns Hotel for some family and friend photos. We stayed and ate their lovely wedding breakfast with them in the Tithe Barn before heading off home to start the editing. Special mention has to go to the florist who made some amazing bouquets using the national flower of South Africa, stunning!

The Wedding of Ami & Daniel at Weeley Church & Frinton Tennis Club

The Wedding of Ami & Daniel at Weeley Church & Frinton Tennis Club. Saturday the 5th of November and we're off to the Essex coast for the wedding of Ami & Dan. The day looked a little misty at first but stayed dry long enough for us to get all the shots we needed including some overlooking the beach at Frinton. Their reception was at Frinton Tennis Club - the wedding breakfast room looked amazing. Ami & Dan had made some Guy Fawkes-like effigies of themselves to celebrate their special day which sat on their chairs until it was time for dinner. Ami's Dad also created some some brilliant wooden vintage style signs for her big day, you can buy them on Ebay, search for his username  steptoe_59

Family portrait in Rothamsted Park. Harpenden

Sunday was a lovely day for a stroll in the park and that's what happened when we met up with 18 members of this family. Alex and Anthony were a couple whose wedding we'd photographed and we'd also done a large family portrait for them & their family a couple of years ago so we were on familiar (sorry) ground! There are a couple of new additions whom we hadn't met but it all added to the fun and we got some great shots of everyone in the shade of the Lime Trees.

Friday the 7th October and we're in London for the wedding of Donna & Daniel. Some impressive buildings! Charlton House is a grand Jacobean Mansion - the reception was in their Old Library which has stunning high ceilings and dark panelled walls. We took Donna & Daniel into their secret garden for some final photos as the sun came out. Brilliant day all round.

The Wedding of Carly & Anthony at The Oatlands Park Hotel, Weybridge

Saturday the 1st of October is the hottest October day ever! We're spending it in Weybridge with Carly and Anthony. We'd never been to the Oatlands Park Hotel before so we arrived super early to see the rooms and grounds we'd be using on the day. Carly, although emotional, had been very efficient and was ready to get into her dress when we started our preparation photos, so after a few shots of the details, the dress, the flowers, the jewellery and the beautiful roses Anthony had sent that morning she got into that dress and swished downstairs to get married! We stayed the whole day and got to photograph their speeches, their cake cutting and their 1st dance. Happy honeymoon!

Wednesday the 14th September - we at The George Hotel & Brasserie in Buckden, Cambridgeshire for the wedding of Gaynor and Erkan. We love working at The George and yesterday was no exception. Our Top Twelve Wedding Tips

We’ve been to 1000’s of big days.

Here are our Top 12 Tips to help your day go smoothly.

1.        Hired Suits – Try them on! So many guys leave this until the wedding day & find they’ve been given the wrong size trousers or shirt or both and/or they’ve got no cravats or ties either.

2.       Bridal Suite – Consider getting ready in another room maybe of a bridesmaid or parent. You’ll be grateful for a clean tidy room at the end of the day and there's the option of having some lovely portraits in an uncluttered Bridal suite.

3.       Needle, Cotton, Crochet hook, Scissors & Tape – For sewing on loose buttons. Cutting loose threads & price tags. Buttoning or securing the dress.

4.      Price tags & stickers – Check the bottom of shoes. remove as many as possible before the day - before you have your nails manicured.

5.       Jewellery – Check for breakages, knots, missing ear rings, have alternatives.

6.      Buttonholes - Have Dad’s buttonhole delivered to the Bride, make sure you ask for spare pins. If you have magnets ask for some extras and/or some extra pins especially for top heavy lady’s corsages. Gents buttonholes pinned to the left-hand lapel, ladies on the right – upside down if they are top heavy.

7.       Bouquets – Keep them cool but not refrigerated. Leave them in water until 30 mins before you leave, dry stems with tissue & stand/lean upright on towels to remove all drips this will avoid water marks on the dress/es.

8.      Engagement ring – Remove before leaving for the ceremony, either have someone wear it or put it on your other hand. Moisturise your ring finger to ensure the wedding ring goes on smoothly.

9.      Timings – Morning prep [and throughout the day] factor in some down-time, aim to be ready 30 mins before you leave for ceremony. Savour every moment!

10.   Confetti – Many guests don’t bring confetti as they know some venues don’t allow it. Supply it or ask certain key guests to bring some.

11.     Children – Keep them entertained, keep them hydrated & have snacks ready for them. Have any photos with kids done first so they can go off & play. Happy children = happy parents.

12.    Delegate – Let other people take the strain – enjoy it!

The Wedding of Sandra & Neil at St Mary's Church, Apsley

Saturday the 10th and we're in Apsley, nr Hemel Hempstead for the wedding of Sandra and Neil at St Mary's Church. We started off with some detail shots at Sandra's mums hours before heading to the Church. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take any photographs during the service but we were able to capture the register signing and the bride and groom's exit from the Church. Even though we had some drizzle everyone was was co-operative which helped us get everything done quickly. We photographed some family group shots and some lovely portraits before they headed off to their reception. Happy honeymoon guys!

Saturday the 3rd September and we're in Ware for the 7th wedding we've covered in 16 days! It's at the beautiful Fanhams Hall. We're joined by David Ruddock (videographer) from Humble Productions who we've worked with a few times and comes highly recommended. We had a glorious day both warm and sunny. Once again Fanhams was an amazing backdrop for the photos and we got some lovely shots in and around the gardens before everyone went into their wedding breakfast. We photographed the whole day from preparations right through until after the first dance.

The Wedding of Emma & David at Down Hall Country House Hotel

Thursday the 1st September and we're on wedding number 6 of the last fortnight! Emma & David booked us 18 months ago and when they decided on their date they managed to choose a lovely sunny day which bodes well for the rest of September. After an emotional ceremony everyone headed outside into the sun for some drinks, canapes and photos. We're spoilt for choice at Down Hall when it comes to taking photos it's such a versatile venue. We ended our time there with an indoor confetti shot before the bride and groom, their family and friends went off to enjoy the wedding breakfast.

Everyone gathered in the beautiful gardens of the Old Palace for a few drinks before moving into the Riding School for their wedding breakfast. With many personal & hand-made touches, the room looked amazing.

The Wedding of Rebekah & Mark at Quendon Park, Parklands

We had a brilliant time at the wedding of Rebekah & Mark on Thursday the 18th at Quendon Hall, Parklands. We'd previously photographed Rebekah's sister and three of her colleagues (with other siblings and colleagues booked for 2011/12!) so we felt so at home with tons of people we knew and recognised. Despite the rain everyone had a fantastic time. the venue was scattered with personal touches including family photos & delicious home made cake pops. There was lots of fun & laughter through the speeches which continued into the evening with a hugely popular Rentabooth and an amazing band Souled Out.
