We’ve been to 1000’s
of big days.
Here are our Top 12 Tips
to help your day go smoothly.
1.
Hired
Suits – Try them on! So many guys leave this until the
wedding day & find they’ve been given the wrong size trousers or shirt or
both and/or they’ve got no cravats or ties either.
2.
Bridal
Suite – Consider getting ready in another room maybe of a
bridesmaid or parent. You’ll be grateful for a clean tidy room at the end of
the day and there's the option of having some lovely portraits in an uncluttered Bridal suite.
3.
Needle,
Cotton, Crochet hook, Scissors & Tape – For sewing on loose buttons.
Cutting loose threads & price tags. Buttoning or securing the dress.
4.
Price tags
& stickers – Check the bottom of shoes. remove as many as possible before the day - before you have your nails manicured.
5.
Jewellery – Check
for breakages, knots, missing ear rings, have alternatives.
6.
Buttonholes - Have
Dad’s buttonhole delivered to the Bride, make sure you ask for spare pins. If
you have magnets ask for some extras and/or some extra pins especially for top
heavy lady’s corsages. Gents buttonholes pinned to the left-hand lapel, ladies
on the right – upside down if they are top heavy.
7.
Bouquets – Keep
them cool but not refrigerated. Leave them in water until 30 mins before you
leave, dry stems with tissue & stand/lean upright on towels to remove all
drips this will avoid water marks on the dress/es.
8.
Engagement
ring – Remove before leaving for the ceremony, either
have someone wear it or put it on your other hand. Moisturise your ring finger
to ensure the wedding ring goes on smoothly.
9.
Timings – Morning
prep [and throughout the day] factor in some down-time, aim to be ready 30 mins
before you leave for ceremony. Savour every moment!
10.
Confetti – Many
guests don’t bring confetti as they know some venues don’t allow it. Supply it
or ask certain key guests to bring some.
11.
Children – Keep
them entertained, keep them hydrated & have snacks ready for them. Have any
photos with kids done first so they can go off & play. Happy children =
happy parents.
12.
Delegate –
Let other people take the strain – enjoy it!
