The Wedding of Aisha & Chris at The Rochford Hotel

Saturday the 24th we're in Rochford at The Rochford Hotel for the wedding of Aisha & Chris. They had a late ceremony and a chilled out garden drinks reception, as the light faded we finished the photos in time for everyone to retire to the bar for the start of their informal speeches, cake cutting, a bouquet throw and a 1st dance.

The Wedding of Sarah & Richard at Manor of Groves

Friday the 23rd September - we start the day at Theobalds Park where our Bride Sarah is getting ready, she looked amazing in her silver Maggie Sottero wedding dress and uber-sparkly shoes. Many former colleagues of the couple watched as she left the hotel for the church. After a lovely ceremony everyone headed outside into the sunshine for confetti and a few photos. Moving on to Manor of Groves we captured some great shots of the bride and groom and then their receiving line before we left them to enjoy their wedding breakfast.

The Wedding of Gaynor & Erkan at The George Hotel, Buckden

Wednesday the 14th September - we at The George Hotel & Brasserie in Buckden, Cambridgeshire for the wedding of Gaynor and Erkan. We love working at The George and yesterday was no exception. There were a few tears during the ceremony (not least from baby Zeren & his mum)! After a few group shots and some wonderfully natural portraits we headed back to the little garden for a fun confetti shot. We left just before the staff at The George brought out afternoon tea.

Our Top Twelve Wedding Tips

We’ve been to 1000’s of big days.

Here are our Top 12 Tips to help your day go smoothly.

1.        Hired Suits – Try them on! So many guys leave this until the wedding day & find they’ve been given the wrong size trousers or shirt or both and/or they’ve got no cravats or ties either.

2.       Bridal Suite – Consider getting ready in another room maybe of a bridesmaid or parent. You’ll be grateful for a clean tidy room at the end of the day and there's the option of having some lovely portraits in an uncluttered Bridal suite.

3.       Needle, Cotton, Crochet hook, Scissors & Tape – For sewing on loose buttons. Cutting loose threads & price tags. Buttoning or securing the dress.

4.      Price tags & stickers – Check the bottom of shoes. remove as many as possible before the day - before you have your nails manicured.

5.       Jewellery – Check for breakages, knots, missing ear rings, have alternatives.

6.      Buttonholes - Have Dad’s buttonhole delivered to the Bride, make sure you ask for spare pins. If you have magnets ask for some extras and/or some extra pins especially for top heavy lady’s corsages. Gents buttonholes pinned to the left-hand lapel, ladies on the right – upside down if they are top heavy.

7.       Bouquets – Keep them cool but not refrigerated. Leave them in water until 30 mins before you leave, dry stems with tissue & stand/lean upright on towels to remove all drips this will avoid water marks on the dress/es.

8.      Engagement ring – Remove before leaving for the ceremony, either have someone wear it or put it on your other hand. Moisturise your ring finger to ensure the wedding ring goes on smoothly.

9.      Timings – Morning prep [and throughout the day] factor in some down-time, aim to be ready 30 mins before you leave for ceremony. Savour every moment!

10.   Confetti – Many guests don’t bring confetti as they know some venues don’t allow it. Supply it or ask certain key guests to bring some.

11.     Children – Keep them entertained, keep them hydrated & have snacks ready for them. Have any photos with kids done first so they can go off & play. Happy children = happy parents.

12.    Delegate – Let other people take the strain – enjoy it!

The Wedding of Sandra & Neil at St Mary's Church, Apsley

Saturday the 10th and we're in Apsley, nr Hemel Hempstead for the wedding of Sandra and Neil at St Mary's Church. We started off with some detail shots at Sandra's mums hours before heading to the Church. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take any photographs during the service but we were able to capture the register signing and the bride and groom's exit from the Church. Even though we had some drizzle everyone was was co-operative which helped us get everything done quickly. We photographed some family group shots and some lovely portraits before they headed off to their reception. Happy honeymoon guys!

The Wedding of Emma & Adam at Fanhams Hall Hotel, Ware

Saturday the 3rd September and we're in Ware for the 7th wedding we've covered in 16 days! It's at the beautiful Fanhams Hall. We're joined by David Ruddock (videographer) from Humble Productions who we've worked with a few times and comes highly recommended. We had a glorious day both warm and sunny. Once again Fanhams was an amazing backdrop for the photos and we got some lovely shots in and around the gardens before everyone went into their wedding breakfast. We photographed the whole day from preparations right through until after the first dance.

The Wedding of Emma & David at Down Hall Country House Hotel

Thursday the 1st September and we're on wedding number 6 of the last fortnight! Emma & David booked us 18 months ago and when they decided on their date they managed to choose a lovely sunny day which bodes well for the rest of September. After an emotional ceremony everyone headed outside into the sun for some drinks, canapes and photos. We're spoilt for choice at Down Hall when it comes to taking photos it's such a versatile venue. We ended our time there with an indoor confetti shot before the bride and groom, their family and friends went off to enjoy the wedding breakfast.
